Comments: I have made a number of very simple Horizon with Star pictures, some very formal and others, like this one, subtitle and very abstract in its division of space. I have taken a lot of inspiration from the compositions of Mondrian and often make a kind of visual game, maximizing the variety of the size of spaces and the widths of the bars. I should add that despite my background in geometry I never used measured geometry to subdivide the views but did so solely based on intuitive feel. Michelangelo once said "proportion should be kept in the eye, not in the hand" to counter the view put forward by some other renaissance artists that some proportions were inherently beautiful and that using them could somehow automatically result in beautiful art.
