Comments: It is extremely rare for me to work in a multi panel format and this is the only time I have ever created an image formed by four separately framed panels. Like several others in this series it began as a pure abstract play of irregular shapes juxtaposed against a geometric grid. But then as I started looking at some of the shapes they seemed a little figural. I then started drawing in little facial features and before I knew it a riot (or carnival) of little cartoon characters had emerged. I've done this in several other drawings and I always think of the characters as being like ghosts or visions from a spirit world. They are often little more than floating heads and certainly don't have normal humanoid bodies.
