Comments: After drawing dozens of mandalas in the mid to late 1980s I started venturing into other directions. I think with this work I was making a literal "break" with the mandala motif and exploring other ways I could use the motif. I made three versions of this drawing -- two on a white background and the above on black. I still have one of the white ones although I don't have a good scan on hand.
