Comments: This is probably one of the most deeply personal of any of my mandalas. It was created over several years during the more emotional and more intimate phases of an on again off again relationship with a woman I still have some conflicted feelings about and would still half like to see again. So how can I put a price on that? How does any artist put a commodity value on a work that has any kind of personal, spiritual, emotional or intellectual depth. I know from experience that there is very little market for my mandalas. To date I have sold fewer than ten of them. So do I accept that as a judgment of their value? Do I protect myself from rejection by listing my best work "not for sale" or "collection of the artist" just because I can't find a market willing to value the work as much as I do?
