Comments: A crude, expressionistic play on the vastupurusa grid. For all its raw, even infantile qualities I would not change a thing. It was just one of those that need to be made. I wanted to work on a black ground but didn't have black paper so I spray painted the page black which was poor planning from an archival point of view. I think that many of the mandala can stand quite well on their own but this one seems fragmented. (Indeed, its working title was once "fragments"). It is one of several mandalas that I don't want to see sold off as individual works but should stay part of a set that can support each other.
