Comments: Like several other images from this period this work began life as a large expanse of open space with a few spheres drifting quietly along. A few years later I reworked the image with bold layers of oil pastel. I found the series (if a half dozen works can be said to constitute a series) very satisfying, giving voice to a very exuberant part of my nature, but I think most of the people who had been following and buying my work didn't know what to make of it. Understandable. It doesn't have the kind of conceptual framework or concrete imagery that the rest of my work has.
